Ms. Ruth Stanat - President & Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Ruth Stanat is the Founder and President of SIS International Research. Since 1984, SIS International has provided assistance to organizations with strategic planning, market research reports, market expansion or business development studies and ad hoc research for answers to specific business issues. SIS International Research is also a recognized worldwide leader in providing customized tracking for competitive intelligence. Ms. Stanat is a Charter Member of the Society for Competitive Intelligence Professionals and a recipient of the SCIP Fellows Award.
During 1990 - 1993, Ms. Stanat personally traveled and expanded the SIS International organization, which spans over 120 countries in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Ms. Stanat is the founder of the concept and implementation of "corporate intelligence networks." In her first book, “The Intelligent Corporation,†published by AMACOM, the publishing division of the American Management Association, 1990, Ms. Stanat provides a methodology for the implementation of corporate intelligence networks.
Ms. Stanat is also author of “Global Gold - Panning for Profits in Foreign Markets,†published by AMACOM, 1998. This book is a guide on how to succeed in international markets. It contains contributions from over 30 authors from Asia, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. It also contains the marketing successes and failures, cultural dos and donts and a complete reference guide. Her third book, “Global Jumpstart - The Complete Resource for Expanding Small and Mid - Sized Businesses,†was published in January 1999, by Perseus Books. This book instructs small businesses ($1 million - $100 million) on how to expand their business globally. Ms. Stanat was formerly a Vice President of Strategic Planning for the Chase Manhattan Bank, a Senior Planning Officer of the Mars Corporation and has held senior marketing and strategic planning positions with International Paper Company, Spring Mills, Inc. and United Airlines.
Ms. Stanat has made several media appearances on CNN Financial News, CNN Airport Channel, CNBC, NBC Biznet, Nations First Business, WCIU - TV, Business News Makers and WTLK - TV Daybreak. On radio, she has given interviews on the topic of global business expansion. Specifically, she has given interviews on Bloomberg Business Journal and Tracking Business Leaders. Ms. Stanat has been featured in Time Inc., Sales & Marketing Management, Industry Week and Working Woman Magazine.
Ms. Stanat has been appointed by the Secretary of Defense to serve a three - year term on the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services (DACOWITS) committee for the Pentagon. The DACOWITS committee is comprised of 34 civilian members from throughout the United States, selected on the basis of achievements in business, their professions and in civic affairs. The Secretary of Defense appoints members for a three - year term, without compensation, to advise him on matters relating to the effective utilization of women in the services. Ms. Stanat is also a member of the Breton Woods committee.
Ms. Stanat has traveled extensively and has lived and worked in Europe. She is conversant in French and German. Ms. Stanat holds a BS degree from Ohio University, graduating Cum Laude, and was a member of Phi Gamma Mu honorary society. She also holds an MA degree in Psychology and Statistics from New York University, Phi Beta Kappa and an MBA degree in Finance from New York University, Beta Gamma Sigma honor society (Phi Beta Kappa equivalent).
Mr. Sam Perkins - Vice President of Fieldwork Services
Mr. Sam Perkins is an internationally experienced executive editor in print and interactive media with expertise in the food/wine, travel, lifestyle and health industries. Sam was the Editor - in - Chief of Zagat Magazine, Executive Editor of Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Editorial Director of Icon - Nicholson, Iconmedia lab, special features editor of Parenting Magazine and has held previous positions with Readers’s Digest.
Sam is fluent in French and is the Co - author of Alexis Lichine’s Guide to the Wines and Vineyards of Franc (A.A. Knopf). He is also conversant in German. He holds a BS in Philosophy from Harvard University and attended the Lycee Vaugelas, Chambery, France.
Mr. Neal Sandin - Project Director
Neal Sandin, Project Director, SIS International Research is responsible for global project management, proposals and execution of projects. Prior to joining SIS International Research, Neal was a Program Assistant with Middle Powers Initiative where he published weekly articles on the North Korean nuclear crisis in The First Committee Monitor in addition to proofreading and copy - editing press releases and official reports. Previously he was an Associate Producer with NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation. Here, Neal produced daily business and economic news pieces, as well as 60 - minute NHK News Specials, for national broadcast in Japanese to 30 million households within Japan.
Neal was also a research associate for Charney Research where he researched and organized briefings on the Afghanistan national elections. He was also an intern for United Nations Headquarters for UN - HABITAT. Neal also worked with Senior - Grade British Diplomat for Carne Ross and conducted primary source research on Iraq, Bosnia, U.S. educational spending and international diplomacy. Neal was an English Language Instructor at the Westgate University Program in Kanagawa, Japan. Neal has MA in International Affairs from The New School University, New York and a BA in International Studies in Guilford College. Neal has advanced proficiency in Japanese.
Mr. Mark Shabason - Marketing Manager
Mark Shabason is responsible for the marketing and sales and client servicing of SIS International Research. Prior to joining SIS International Research, Mark was an Associate of International Trade with the Annisa Group in New York. In this position he established, developed and managed a client base for petrochemical based products, specializing in Polyethylene Terephthalate [PET] resin. He also worked with other commodities programs for export to Russian, Eastern European, North African and Middle Eastern markets.
Prior to this position, Mark was a senior research associate with Ziment Research where he evaluated and managed the performance and progress of multiple healthcare/pharmaceutical market research studies. He is also experiences in survey design and implementation. Mark holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, with a major in Marketing.
Mr. Ryan Durosky - Associate Project Director
Ryan Durosky attended the New York University, Stern School of Business, undergraduate studies. He is currently a Marketing and International Business major and he attended the New York University program in Florence Italy. Prior to joining SIS International Research, Ryan worked for Quantum Technology Recruiting.
Brea Angelo - Moderator
Brea Angelo, a New Orleans native, received her B.S. in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin. She was named one of the Top 25 Most Promising Students in the Nation by Advertising Age Magazine and the American Advertising Federation. She has worked as an Account Management Intern at DMB&B/New York and at BBDO/Chicago where she conducted extensive market research for the Wrigley account.
At SIS, Brea has conducted a wide range of qualitative and quantitative phone research in the following industries: education, government, pharmaceutical, construction, jewelry, automotive, medical devices and healthcare. Additionally, she has organized attendees for paid focus groups in the New York area on topics as diverse as computers, birth control, diabetes and supermarkets. Brea is also an experienced focus group moderator and speaks both Spanish and French fluently.
Sara Petrasso, Moderator/Executive Interviewer
Sara Petrasso, a Boston native, received her B.S. in Mass Media Communications and Psychology from New York University. While there, she developed a specialization in media analysis, with a focus on the social, psychological, and cultural impacts of mediated communication. Currently, Sara is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology. She facilitates group therapy sessions at an esteemed New York City medical facility.
At SIS, Sara has been able to apply her expertise in media analysis and psychology to meet the needs of our clients by organizing and facilitating focus groups. She is an experienced interviewer in both consumer and clinical settings. Her interviews have covered the breadth of medication compliance, treatment seeking behaviors, and antidepressant medication use.
Prior to coming to SIS, Sara worked for Brian Ross, the chief investigative correspondent for ABCNews, assisting on national and international news stories which have aired on World News Tonight and 20/20.
Jam Mariquit, Managing Director of SIS Asia Pacific Region
Jam will be responsible for the overall execution of the project, from design conceptualization to final report delivery. He has an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, and has been involved in CI research, training and consulting around the Asia Pacific region since 2000.
Iris Lorenzo, Project Director SIS Asia
Iris has a post - graduate Juris Doctor (law) Degree and Bachelors Degree in Philosophy.
She has 7 years experience in handling corporate compliance with government regulatory requirements in the banking, real estate, power and trade industries.
She previously served as a government consultant of the Garment Textiles and Export Board of the Department of Trade & Industry, and participated in the preparation of World Trade Organization (WTO) and General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) plans & programs.
She has been a Research Project Director of SIS International Research since 2004, responsible for the management of fieldwork research teams in Asia Pacific, Americas & Europe and support operations from the global research center in Manila. She has handled numerous market and competitor studies across multiple industries.
Gen Sarmiento, Project Manager of SIS Asia
Gen Sarmiento graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science focused in International Relations and Comparative Politics. Her second degree is on Comparative Literature. She also pursued studies in Japanese language as well as Linguistics.
Gen was a writer for educational magazines publication before she joined the Department of Education as concept &content manager for its educational television program.
As Project Manager of SIS International Research , she currently handles market and competitive monitoring & tracking services, as well as market & competitor profiling across different industries in the Asia - Pacific, Europe and the Americas.
Paolo Edrosolano, Project Manager - SIS Asia
Paulo majored in Computer Science. He previously worked for a market research company based in the west coast of the United States and studied market trends in the food and food service industry where he was involved in data collection, data manipulation and analysis, quality assurance, and training. He held the positions of Researcher, Senior Researcher, Project Manager, Data Specialist, Quality Analyst, and Trainer.
He then worked for a Texas-based retail energy provider as an accounts financial analyst; then for the Customer Relations Management (CRM) division of large telecommunications company in the United States to conduct accounts issues resolution. He has also held the position of marketing manager of a Non-Government Organization and the president of an international organization on sexual and reproductive health enabling him to establish a large network of social workers, medical research professionals, government officials and politicians, and health professionals.
He is handling real-time global tracking of competitor activities, scenario analyses, and early warning activities in support of the clients' competitive Public Relations functions. He has handled various projects including market research and competitive intelligence research in the areas of infectious diseases, reproductive health, respiratory health, mycology, oncology, broad-spectrum antibiotics, cardiology, endocrinology, Information Technology hardware, Enterprise Application, and telecommunications. He maintains a network of in-country researchers in Asia, Europe, and North and South Americas. He specializes in the application of elicitation techniques Competitive Intelligence research.
